Balayage is always customizable in my opinion. Not everyone has the same hair texture and not everyone has the same lifestyle. Therefore I don’t believe that you can do the same technique on everyone, the same color on everyone, or the same face framing on everyone. I believe that the stylist becomes an artist when they are able to differentiate their clients, sometimes I do a foliage technique on and sometimes I use a free hand technique. etc etc it really all depends on the texture of the clients hair, the underline pigment and wether their hair is virgin or pre colored. I also take into consideration their lifestyle. How do you style your hair? Do you style your hair at all? Are you a High maintenance girl?Are you a wash and go kinda girl?
